A Belated Birthday!

It was super busy around easter time so poor number 2 was asked if she would mind waiting to have her party later in the year. It was a really fun event and I love now that the girls are a bit older that they love to be so involved with lots of the plans and preparations. Jaz was a super great help- doing party bags, gf muffins and decorating the birthday cake. I guess what was left was for the grown ups to not be put off by the giggling girls, no seriously - this took giggling to all new levels!!!

Party bags

The best news about these muffins were that they were gluten free- thanks Jaz- YUM!

Furry Babies

I dont know that I have ever really blogged about the furry side of our family - our puppies that is! We have 2 gorgeous cockaliers ( cocker spaniel X cavalier) who are very cuddly members of our family. My husband calls them living teddy bears!!!
The first is named Calamity after Calamity Jane the movie, since I am an old musical buff , and the younger is named Katie Brown after Calamity's best friend in the movie. On reflection we think they should of named them the other way around as our Katie is much more the Calamity around here as an avid power cord chewer ( need I say any more?)

On the weekend we decided it was time for a big shave as the fur situation was out of control. I'm going to leave you with a collection of photos documenting the fun...

Major hair problem here.

Please not the clippers!!!

Calamity gets a bath

Katie attempts to escape the bath

Awwww- looking gorgeous!

Crazy retro cupcakes

We are so excited about our very special overseas visitors arriving next week ( more about them later :-) We have been busily tidying and cleaning - more than a little overdue! We have also had a weeks break at the beautiful Terrigal but before we left I quickly snuck in another fabric design. This design is based on a weekly contest run by Spoonflower. The theme was cakes made using collage and so I painted the designs, printed them onto cardstock and them pieced them together with scissors and glue to form the collage. Quite time consuming but very fun. Enjoy the picis!

A scribbly start- putting the ideas together- going retro!

Retro patterns painting in the designs, so much fun...

Cutting and placing out the printed artwork

The finished file- Retro cupcakes!!! Hooraay!

Cant wait to see it as fabric ♥
