Merry Christmas 2012

It's Christmas Eve and already the youngest one has woken early to see if there are presents in the stocking. We have the tradition of opening the stocking presents ( little pressies) on the night before Christmas and then opening presents on Christmas morning. I dont know how you feel you coped with Christmas this year but I have felt a little like I was struggling to get organised. It was wonderful to enjoy Christmas events- making gingerbread, carols by the lake at Narrabeen and the singing of carols at our church- I love it all. Had a great reminder at church to remember the reason for the season and why we are celebrating, that precious baby born 2000 years ago. It can be easy to get caught up in the busyness and not enjoy the moment!

I took the annual Christmas photos of the girls yesterday. There was lots of laughter, and teasing but Stell definitely found it difficult to smile for the camera ( and look)  we finally got there in  the end.

Today I am making desert for Christmas day and looking forward to using my thermomix. It is amazing!

We decorate the tree then watch White Christmas together

Christmas greetings to you all. So looking forward to sharing some new adventures with you next year! Lots of arty ideas in progress...

Christmas cherubs

A couple of weeks ago. Bec from madeit contacted me about doing a banner for the madeit facebook page! I had wonderful fun designing a banner based on some cherubs that I had been developing.
Here is the end result - and thanks so much Bec for the opportunity...

Today I have been able to add to my made it store some Christmas cards based around these little guys, I hope you enjoy them... They are now in my madeit store

Where you curious when you read the tittle for this post??? Funnily enough it is what it sounds like- the putting in of built-ins! Last week we had 2 new built-ins put into the girls rooms, which sounds simple but led to a week of busyness.

So last weekend the carpenter was tearing out the old cupboards. We were left with empty shells in the girls rooms and all their 'stuff' on our bedroom and lounge room floor, we could barely move!

Soon to be a desk nook- kiki will love it!
Last Monday the company came to install them - they look great. Days pass- school, birth parent visit, thermomix demonstration, 2 days work - feeling the mess...  Finally the things are sorted- keepers, salvos box and chuckers - it took hours!

just installed!

Last step putting it all in. I'm really pleased with the look and they hold so much. Sorry I havent taken a photo of the organised insides! The girls are happy, I'm happy and the house is vaguely organised again! phew!!!

Belly Dance Festival

I cant believe that it is all over but Sunday was the final day for the belly dance festival at Parramatta and the day that my sister Merilyn and I sold our wares! It was a really fun day - so much to see and hear and I loved watching the dancing, so many talented souls out there. They really made it look so enjoyable!
I'm sharing some of my favorite picis from the day. Merilyn sells tribal belly dance outfits and supplies through her business Tribal Line.
I took prints, cards, notebooks and calenders. My best seller? Belly dancing cats!!!
Thanks for everyone who came and supported the event!

Belly Dance Blitz!

I'm fully immersed in a great project that isnt my usual subject for illustration!  My sister has been a belly dancer for many years and also has a business Tribal Line importing and selling tribal belly dance wear. In a little over a week we are joining together at a big belly dance meet to have a shop together. Merilyn will have her tribal wear and I have put together a number of designs for the day. I has been so fun looking, designing and painting. I have added them to my etsy shop and will be adding them to my madeit shop in the coming day or two.
Enjoy some of my designs...

Ok so this one is my favourite- I'm picturing it as fabric-Yum!

Vintage Cards

School holidays are fast approaching and I feel like every year I am saying that the year is flying by! I am looking forward to some more time with the girls especially with the beautiful sunny days that we have been having.

I am in the process of adding some of my vintage style greeting cards to my etsy store over the next week. It is such a fun process to make these cards and I love that many of them were created using the fabric from vintage sheets before they are digitised for printing.
They are already  in my madeit store - check them out!
